Ok, so today Kev took a vacation day so we could accomplish our final step of moving to Ohio - new licenses and license plates. We read up on all the rules on the Ohio registry website, took all the documents with us that were listed in their "Don't leave home without it!" section. All in all, we were feeling pretty responsible and put together. I even got up early to straighten my hair for the all-important license picture.
Not so much.
Never thought I'd say this - I miss the Massachusetts registry! They're the best!
There are three (3!!!) different offices involved in this process. We thought it was one. Go to office 1 to get an "inspection" of our cars - basically to make sure it's not stolen. There's no such thing as an inspection sticker here - probably why we see sloppy jaloppies all over the road and our county is one of the most polluted in the country. Then to office 2 to get a new title. Back to office 1 to get plates and pay money. Then to office 3 to take a written driver's test (!!!We're not 16!!!), then back to office 1 - after office 3 confiscates your license - to get a new license. Offices 1 and 2 are in the same building, but not office 3. And guess what - office 3 (which we did not even know existed until office 1 informed us) is not open Mondays. Soooo, we got no license and only 1 set of plates. We're waiting on more documentation for the other car - we brought with us what we were told we needed during a phone call to the registry, but I guess that's not enough.
*sigh*
But hey, nothing that 2 Asian Pear Mojitos from P.F. Chang's couldn't fix!!!
Time to take a nap.
Pediatrician appt at 4:30, will fill you all in on his current height and weight later on.
